Information Experts recently presented a workshop at the 2009 International Conference of eLearning in the Workplace, (ICELW), hosted by Columbia University, June 10th through 13th in New York, NY. During the 3-day event, Information Experts’ David Derr, V.P. of Education Services, Terry Mackey, Director of Learning, and Ellie O'Connor, Usability Specialist, shared best practices related to eLearning formative assessments. The team also authored an accompanying white paper—titled "Cost-Effective Strategies for Developing Formative Assessments in Online Workplace Training"—that was selected for publication by the International Journal of Advanced Corporate Learning (iJAC), operating out of Austria.
The Information Experts team chose the workshop and white paper topic based on the many challenges our clients often face regarding formative assessment within online and blended learning solutions. Far too often, summative assessments occur too late to facilitate successful remediation and to avoid decreased motivation. This white paper, however, discusses the numerous successful formative assessment solutions Information Experts has implemented over the years for government and corporate clients alike.
The white paper will be published in iJAC's November 2009 issue but is available for download here.
