Information Experts and Yahoo! Partner to Launch Small Business Blog

Information Experts and Yahoo! reach out to small business leaders through a new blog now available at http://smallbusinessblog.yahoo.com.

RESTON, VIRGINIA, July 13, 2009—Aspiring entrepreneurs are often passionate about making a difference and making money, but this passion alone does not replace the need for nuts-and-bolts business knowhow. Therefore, Information Experts (IE) and Yahoo! have partnered to launch a small business blog (http://smallbusinessblog.yahoo.com) where successful small business executives can share anecdotes, advice, and industry expertise.

Internet giant Yahoo!, with its proud history of supporting small business success, decided to host a Web 2.0 resource for small business leaders and aspiring entrepreneurs. Needing a partner who could provide the small business insight that this initiative demanded, Yahoo! tapped IE to oversee the blog’s content. IE created an editorial strategy, selected an expert team of bloggers from around the country, and continues to provide editorial support.

“Small business owners rely on mentors, industry networking events, and advice from their peers to build their expertise,” noted IE’s Creative Director David Whitrap, who is overseeing the editorial effort. “This blog simply extends that existing community into the world of social media.”

IE has a history of managing nationwide communications campaigns for large organizations. Also, in keeping in the spirit of this project, IE is a true model for small business success. IE’s Founder and CEO, Marissa Levin, has been frequently recognized for her entrepreneurial spirit, leadership, and experience in shattering the traditional corporate culture. Among her many awards and acknowledgements, she was named a Finalist in 2002 for Ernst & Young’s prestigious “Entrepreneur of the Year” Award.

The Yahoo! Small Business blog will run from July 2009 through October 2009. Ms. Levin will serve as a contributor, and she is joined by serial entrepreneurs Kathy Korman Frey, Matt Howard, Debbie LaChusa, and Del Williams.
