IE Web Consultant earns HFI’s Certified Usability Analyst certification

RESTON, VIRGINIA, July 1, 2008—Information Experts is proud to announce the successful completion of Human Factors International’s (HFI) Certified Usability Analyst (CUA) program by Web Consultant Ellie O’Connor, making her one of only 1,600 CUA-certified professionals worldwide.

To receive the certification, O’Connor was required to pass an exam to demonstrate her mastery of the fundamental principles of user-centered Web design. User-centered Web sites are designed from the perspective of the end user to be more intuitive, easy to use and visually appealing—all of which lead to greater online success for the client.

O’Connor has over 8 years experience building for the Web with a specialty in creating accessible and usable sites. At IE, she is responsible for all aspects of Web development, including requirements gathering, usability analysis, Section 508 accessibility, page layout and development.

Section 508 accessibility is an important aspect of designing Web sites for the Federal government, and CUA certification guidelines far surpass the government implementation requirements for making information technology accessible and usable to people with disabilities.

As a Certified Usability Analyst, O’Connor will continue to use research-based principles to work with designers, programmers and other IE team members to pin-point usability and accessibility issues for the company’s corporate and government clients.
