Position Profile

Information Experts is seeking an Instructional Designer (ID) to support work for our commercial and federal clients. In this role, the ID will use ISD principles to plan the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation (ADDIE) for multimedia and traditional training systems developed for technical training programs. The ID will provide subject matter expertise with regard to instructional approaches as well as evaluation of curriculum documents and instructional delivery procedures.

This position is located in Jacksonville, FL. Some travel may be required.

Essential Responsibilities

• Work closely with Quality Assurance Specialists, Graphic Specialists, and Courseware Developers to ensure that the produced training materials are instructionally sound
• Provide expertise in instructional systems design by assisting and advising training support personnel
• Review and verify the instructional design throughout the project lifecycle
• Develop instructional materials in accordance with company and customer curriculum development standards and guidelines
• Exercise safe, mature, discretionary handling of government furnished materials, sensitive materials (documents and equipment), and any end items used for training
• Interface with various internal and external stakeholders on planning and scheduling related items and functions including reporting requirements, and progress reporting
• Provide subject matter expertise and guidance in defining technical approaches for training programs
• Participate in and contribute to proposal efforts
• Act as team lead, providing management and oversight to on-site personnel
• Act as liaison between project management and clients in determining needs of the course and appropriate method of delivery

Required Qualifications

• Experience using ADDIE process to develop multimedia training
• Strong knowledge of adult learning theories and evolving training modalities
• Ability to independently create advanced level training for various audiences
• Strong knowledge of and ability to use multimedia technology and authoring tools
• Strong interpersonal skills, previous management experience a plus
• Strong desire and ability to work creatively and analytically with an attention to detail
• Excellent ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking and writing so others will understand
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects simultaneously

Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, Education, Behavioral Science or closely related field from an accredited college or university. Master’s degree is preferred
• At least eight years of professional experience as a Instructional Designer with proven proficiency in the design and development of multimedia training products
• Previous federal contracting, U.S. Army or Military experience a plus
• Management experience a plus

Position Profile:

As a Web Developer you will be responsible for the development of various web-based solutions with a variety of commercial and government clients. This position works with front-end developers, as well as others in the creative group to build interactive online solutions for our clients and their users.

Principal Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities include:

• Working with Senior Technical leads, develop deliverables per client needs and expectations and present potential concepts
• Back-end development of technical solutions
• Assist in the identification of functional requirements
• Collaboration with teams members to create interactive technical solutions, including website and web-based trainings
• Interact and confer with client frequently regarding specific work efforts including seeking regular feedback and input from client on deliverables
• Balance and prioritize work to ensure critical items are addressed
• Produce high quality deliverables while working within budget and meeting deadlines
• Keep supervisor aware of workload and potential conflicting commitments

Required Qualifications:

• 3-5 years experience using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Web Standards
• Mid-to-advanced knowledge of PHP and JavaScript programming
• Familiarity developing in a LAMP environment
• Strong grasp of programming/web development best practices and concepts such as MVC design, web templating, caching, code reuse, etc.
• Familiarity with SQL, database design, and other data formats such as XML and JSON
• Experience customizing and extending CMS solutions like WordPress, Drupal or similar open-source platforms
• Basic knowledge of Git version control
• Strong familiarity with the jQuery framework
• Must be able to design web applications that are functionally consistent across relevant browsers, and that degrade gracefully in popular but less-than-modern browsers.
• Ability to create, execute, and document tests to ensure an application meets user requirements and specifications
• Strong desire and ability to work creatively and analytically with an attention to detail
• Excellent ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking and writing so others will understand
• Can easily handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Must be able to work cooperatively as a member of a team as well as independently with self direction
• Must have patience, flexibility, a good sense of humor and be solutions-focused

Optional or Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of SCORM and Section 508 compliance
• Knowledge of Adobe Flash, ActionScript, and XML
• Experience with .NET
• Experience with Learning Management Systems (integrating learning objects, tagging, testing, etc.)

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field is preferred
• 3-5 years of application experience developing and programming websites
