Position Profile:
The Business Development Manager is the face and future of Information
Experts and an extension of our brand. This position is responsible
for sales and strategic business development in Information Experts’
commercial practice. The person in this position knows the difference
between “business development’ and “sales”
and isn’t afraid to aggressively pursue business opportunities.
Principal Responsibilities:
Be an Information Expert demonstrating our core values and commitment
to our clients:
Meet (and exceed) corporate and personal financial/sales targets
Manage strategic relationships with existing and new accounts
Implement sales strategies for new clients including proposal
approach and format, relevant project profiles and references
Create and maintain account plans for strategic accounts
Sell solutions to existing and new accounts and manage the
accounts throughout the entire sales cycle
Work with Information Experts team members to develop proposals;
manage team efforts to meet critical deadlines and proposal objectives
Document and maintain related business development and sales
records including client listings, business pipeline tools, and
budgets
Support and encourage coordination and teamwork with all other
areas of Information Experts to sell and maintain business relations
Required Qualifications:
Proven track record of overachievement of quota, success in
cold calling, prospecting, qualifying and closing business
Highly skilled in identifying and developing business solutions
to meet client needs; proven success selling to c-level clients
Superior ability to engage a client in meaningful dialog, problem
solving, questioning, listening, and solutions-identification
Outstanding written and oral communication skills; must have
proven proposal leadership and facilitation skills and excellent
presentation skills
Outstanding ability to write business proposals and interpret
and incorporate competitive advantage themes
Strong ability to creatively use resources and find solutions
to unique problems
Experience in setting appropriate company and customer expectations
Must be highly motivated, a self starter, results-oriented,
an independent thinker and a team player
Must have patience, flexibility, and a good sense of humor
Minimum travel (25 %) required
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business with a marketing communications
focus preferred
A minimum of 5 years of solution sales experience having achieved
an average sales quota of at least $2M per year in consulting
services
Contracts and sales experience in a variety of industries and
markets
Training in any sales methodology a plus
